1943 FOCKE WULF 190 A-5

One of the few remaining airworthy Focke Wulf 190 fighter aircraft has been brought into Turkish aviation by the M.S.Ö. Air & Space Museum.

Approximately 70 Focke Wulf 190 series aircraft—designed by renowned German engineer Kurt Tank—served in the distinguished Turkish Air Force inventory between 1941 and 1948 as frontline “fighter aircraft.” These aircraft were effectively used to defend Turkish airspace across various regions of Türkiye.

The M.S.Ö. Air & Space Museum carries out a range of initiatives aimed at promoting aviation culture in Türkiye and raising public awareness of aviation to the level seen in developed nations. As part of its mission to preserve the legacy of Turkish aviation history and to include the most iconic aircraft from world aviation history in its collection, the acquisition of a fully airworthy Focke Wulf 190 A-5 fighter and its return to Turkish skies under the proud emblem of Turkish Air Force has been a major milestone.

In this context, we are proud to announce that a 1943-model Focke Wulf 190 A-5 fighter aircraft has officially joined the museum collection.

At the M.S.Ö. Air & Space Museum, we are dedicated to promoting both Turkish and global aviation history in the most effective way possible and to advancing Türkiye’s aviation culture to meet international standards.

The Focke Wulf 190 was brought into the M.S.Ö. Air & Space Museum with the invaluable contributions of Ali İsmet ÖZTÜRK.
