Lycoming IO-540 – K1G5D is produced by Lycoming Engines which is one of the leading aircraft engine producers of the USA. This engine produces between 230 and 350 hp; it is air-cooled and it has six cylinders.

It is used in planes such as piper PA-46, Cessna 182, Cessna 206, Grob G 120, Robinson R44 and Tecnam P2012. Besides, AEIO version is also produced for the acrobatic racing aircrafts with high performance. Its power increased from 260 hp to 300 hp. AEIO-540 version has gained significant achievements in aircrafts such as Extra 300, CAP 232 and Zivko Edge 540.

This Lycoming engine belongs to the Piper Saratoga plane with the serial number 32R-8013064 and now it is in the inventory of M.S.Ö. Air & Space Museum.
